This iconic little rowboat was seen daily, tied up in the marsh on Hilton Head Island. Sadly, Hurricane Matthew washed it away when the storm barreled through the Lowcountry and caused large scale damage back in 2016. I am so glad I got to paint it before it was destroyed. I would pass it by in my car almost every day and always looked over. It gave me a sense of tranquility, just floating aimlessly amongst the grasses, moving to different angles with every tidal change. It always captured my attention.
